Go ahead and take the final step. If you are thinking about doing something, but are afraid that it may not work out for you, the best course of action is to just do it. You want to regret having done something and failed rather than not doing it at all. I would much rather regret making a bad choice, than end up wondering what would have happened if I didn’t make the choice. I know that sounds a little confusing, but if you think about it, it makes perfect sense. There is no use in wasting your time with something if you aren’t going to follow through. It amazes me, how we as humans, become so involved and complicated in situations. We experience things that make us sad, or happy, or mad, but in an instance, those things can sometimes be forgotten when something new arises. Your life is but a ripple in an ocean, so spend it wisely, make a difference, and make an impression, because you only get one chance.

I heard an extremely interesting quote today that really made me think. Here’s the quote: “We are shaped by fate just as we shape it,” Wow. Isn’t that an amazing quote? It definitely makes you wonder if you are in control of your own life. All the events that happen to you could be fate shaping you, and you shaping fate by responding to those actions. It’s an amazing thing to think about. We shape our own future daily, is that fate, or are we just here making random decisions that happen to end up a tapestry?

What drives us? Have you ever really stopped and thought about that? What makes us want to continue life? What makes you wake up every day and say, I want to keep going, I want to continue my life. I think it’s a very important thing to realize that we have the ability to end our own life. That is something necessary to know. You have the ability to end your own life, but you don’t. It’s definitely something to think about. It’s amazing how even from bad situations, good can turn out. If you think back to something bad that happened in your life, something good came out of it, at some point. Maybe the good from it hasn’t happened yet, but it will. There is a purpose for all obstacles in life, and even if they may seem difficult or unbearable, you must realize there is a purpose.

Memories are strong emotions, if you would even call them an emotion? I personally think we as humans are addicted to emotions. If you think of a past situation, whether it was good or bad, you still usually have fond memories of it. Take school for an example. While you are in it, you can think of nothing but getting out of it for good, but after you get out, you look back with fond memories. We really just don’t realize that things we experience today will one day be memories that will never come again. What’s really sad is when you do not realize how good something is until you lose it. Another example, there are times that I have experienced with friends in the past, and I know that I will never be put in that situation with those same friends again, and it really is sad to think about. Never take what you have for granted, because you don’t realize that one day it won’t be the same.

Things are never ever as they seem. There are always situations going on behind the scenes, things that some of us will never be aware of. There is always a face that people put on, no matter how you may perceive them. People on the outside, that may look like they are having the best of days, could have problems beyond your comprehension. We also do not know what we truly want. We think we know, but in reality we don’t. We act impulsively so much, it’s almost unbelievable. Through our own eyes things look so enticing, and we don’t look past the outside most of the time. The problem with our society is that people put on fronts. Most people change depending on who they are with, they in essence adapt to the environment that they are in, and change their views, thoughts, and actions. In my opinion that is being artificial.

Do we truly know what is best for us? Do we really know what the best choice is, or do we make decisions impulsively? I think a lot of the time we do things based on what would be good for us now, and don’t think about the future. Sometimes we don’t even review our past mistakes. Although you shouldn’t regret the past, you should definitely learn from mistakes that you have made. The present should be our focus, and the future should be what we look forward to.

Change is a good thing. Some people fear change, or the future. If you fear the future, this comes back to the point of not being able to concentrate on the present. The future is only what you make it, and it is shaped and molded by now. Change has to come, situations have to be altered, otherwise we can’t progress. Success is based on change, and change is based on your current actions. The bottom line is, you cannot focus on the hear and now if you don’t forget about the past, and dread the future. It’s really weird how fate works sometimes. I am a total believer in fate and destiny. I believe that every event that happens, was predetermined. We can still respond to those situations how we work, but overall, things still happen, there is very little we can do to stop them sometimes. However, as I stated before, you can respond to them in any way that you want, and this will alter your destiny; however, I believe you will still end up in the same place in the end, no matter what. For an example, you may have a choice, to do something. How you get it done could be good or evil, and you’re still going to get that task done, but in each situation, you arrived there differently, however, you still arrived at the same place in the end.

Have you ever wanted to go back and change something? Change something that you think you’ve done wrong in the past? Think back to a situation, that you may regret, and if you could change it, would you? Should you is a better question. Changing that situation would alter so much. Changing it would in essence make you less aware of your surroundings, less aware of what you should and shouldn’t do in the future. So in a way, the situation that you would like to change, would happen inevitably, because if you went back and changed it, who is to say that you wouldn’t make the same mistake again, because your memories of that situation would be lost. We all have things that we wish we would have done differently. Things that we wish we wouldn’t have said or done, and we say that we would give up so much to go back and correct it. This comes back to the issue of regret. Well if you stop and think about it, to regret something you did, is better to regret something you didn’t do. Altering what you did in the past would do nothing but alter your position now, so would you really want that? Would you want to be less of a person than you are today for one small mistake that you made in the past?

Have you ever wondered what the future will bring? You have to ask yourself, if you could view the future, would you? Because, by simply viewing it, you would change it. If you could glimpse into the future, and see who you were to marry, wouldn’t that change your current situation? Wouldn’t that change your actions around that person? Or do you think fate is so strong that you would end up together anyway? It’s definitely something to think about. Life is a complex thing. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve thought to myself that something was fate, or something was meant to be, but it ended up being me acting on my own impulses. I wanted something that wasn’t necessarily for the best, but I wanted it so bad, I was blinded. I wanted, I didn’t need. It’s necessary to stop sometimes and ask yourself, although you wish something would happen, is it truly what would be best for the long run, or is it just you acting on impulse?

Time passes so fast. Within the blink of an eye I am going to be an old man. It truly amazes me. I think back, and it seems like it was just yesterday that I was thinking, “Wow I wish I was old enough to drive,” and things of that nature. And now, since I am older, about to turn twenty, I just want to be young again. Twenty years old, it’s really hard for me to comprehend that. We as humans really don’t realize how short life really is. We have to be careful and spend our time wisely. “All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.” Yes it’s a Gandalf quote, and yes I’ve used it before, but I can’t put into words how much it means to me. It’s also amazing to think how all things play into parts of our lives. For an example, even evil things change the outcome of your life. In fact, those evil things may play a necessary role in your life. How can we say that our lives aren’t planned out? If you think back, to a minor situation, and remove almost any event, it will change your current position in life.
